With the craziness of the NYC marathon, and the cold weather, we’re taking tomorrow off.
Keep your eyes on this site, however, as we should have news in the next week or two about finally, finally, finally getting a home of our very own.

    Hi Nichole,
    If you also happen to be interested in doing some Olympic-style weightlifting, you’re more than welcome to join me at Lost Battalion Hall in Rego Park, Queens. I usually lift on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30PM onwards. It’s a bit of a hike from where you are (maybe a 35-40 min. subway ride from Times Square), but there are lots of lifting platforms, tons of bumper plates, and some great coaching there.

    Thanks for the offer Yoon! I can’t lift on Wed. but I will try to make it out there on Monday. I love O-lifts thanks to Burgners cert.! I never lifted before that but now can’t get enough: ) I will let you know for sure before Monday – thanks

    My wife and I live in Queens and been meaning to get over to the Lost Battalion Hall. What is the price and your thoughts on it? Maybe we will check it out this week.

    Hi Justin,
    It costs $100 total for 1 year ($50 for the recreation center fee and $50 dollars for the weightlifting program). I believe we share the facility with a different squad, so practice is usually on Mondays and Wednesdays only (from 5:30PM to about 9:00).
    There is a separate freeweight/cardio section at the rec. center, but it’s always crowded, so I wouldn’t really recommend making this your primary gym.
    The coaching is great…for your first sessions, I’d recommend coming either early at 5:30 or later on (~7:30) as it probably will be less crowded.

    If I recall, it was Elliot Royce, who had similar issues in the past…he may be able to recommend a good therapist. He posts on the main message boards.
