Coke is bad for you. Who knew?
It’s a small world. Not!
Havent bought him any KBs yet Michelle! But Court I can hold him close just like I hold my KB after a clean!!
Enjoy the photos:
Just woke up after my first beginners workout and I’m sore as hell. The workout was hell – just as I expected. I told about a million people to join – Can’t wait to come back!
While Keith is out of town this weekend, I’ll be teaching tonight’s 6 and 7pm WOD classes, tomorrow’s lunchtime class, and Monday’s lunchtime class (one day post-marathon–think I’ll have to take the elevator to get upstairs).
I posted the SuperFran pics taken with my camera onto my Flickr page and you can watch a slideshow of them here:
So no Oly class this sunday?
Are there going to be 7 am classes tomorrow and next week?
Yup. I’ll be teaching the 7am classes.
If nobody else steps up to the plate, I can teach the O-lifting class on Sunday. That is, if it is alright with the real trainers.
Despite the lack of photographic evidence, Joseph was the first one to press The Conch overhead with one hand. http://www.flickr.com/photos/alizinha/1810241826/in/set-72157602814265510/
Those of us that witnessed the amazing feat of strength were justly awed. I promised to buy Joe a beer when he turns 21.
Congrats, Joseph. Strong work!
I’m going to Vegas. I’ll be back in the Box Tuesday morning. If anything happens here while I’m gone it’s not my fault (for once).
Coach P (Mike) is teaching Oly class on Sunday but I’m sure he’d love your help, Adam.
Definite props to Joe for pressing the conch first. But did he do a strict press right in to a windmill?
Whats the deal with Diane at the 1230 class? Is it a go considering the neighbor situation?
forgot the n
Have fun in Vegas Keith.

Y’all can have your Baconators. Coming up from the mid-Atlantic states, I’ve always been a 5 Guys fan. This has been held at bay by distance (there’s one out in Brooklyn Heights but that’s far). But not anymore as today it opens just a few blocks away at 43 W 55TH Street. *sigh* It’s over. It’s all over.

(For the love of Jebus, that’s fiveguys.com. Don’t be lazy and just type the number unless you want to get a “Brief discussion” meeting request from your IT department.)
Damn you to hell Moon… Hamburgers are my weakness and I would have just been happy being ignorant not knowing that place was around. Now of course I have to go this weekend and try it out.
Dan-any way you can post your pictures-I know you had a bunch as well!
Damn it Moon…there goes my good cholesterol count! You know our peoeple are at high risk for heart disease and hypertension! Shame on you!
Keith why go to Vegas to act crazy-you do a great job making a fool of yourself here in NYC! And with your luck, what happens in Vegas will not stay in Vegas but rather somehow end up on the national blog and spark another debate on Crossfit behavior on the main site! Have a safe trip
Don’t worry Jack… We are already viewed as the cracked out uncle in Crossfit. It would be a story if something didnt happen.
Damn no one wants to be cracked out uncle Justin. He’s the one people hate to invite over on the holidays, and you keep him away from the wine until after dinner!
the deadlifts were startin to look a little romanian. I think i was just trying to just go fast, but form first.
and the handstand pushups are getting way better.
Not hitting the deck with my head just yet but im way closer than i used to be.
Michelle– aka The Owl –
I will post my Super Fran pictures soon… as soon as I figure out how to download my new camera and post them to the web, but soon.
Good news for our runners – portable music players/headphones will not be actively banned this year for Saturday’s race.
And there’s a shout-out to our shirts in the last paragraph.
and that’s owl GIRL
Er…Sunday’s race. Thanks for the corrections.
HSPU forehead to floor, “9′s” were slow negatives
got 2 consecutive MU’s post. a PR.
worth watching. 2:19 Fran.
He was doing the “butterfly” kip! Gotta learn how to do that one day, because it’s a lot faster than the conventional kip…
DLs 115 – will be using 150 next time
HSPUs using black band
10:49 as rx’d
Nose to floor HSPU. “9′s” were forehead to floor cuz I didnt want to land on the face as exhaustion was kicking in. A full 1:30 slower than last time but I wanted to make sure I did all the HSPU clean so their was a good amount of rest between reps which were mostly singles until the end. Great job tonight everyone. Nice work Brett and welcome back Allison_NYC and Jeff!!
5:55 Sub 135 DL (due to minor back pain), HSPU (est. 4-5 inches from full ROM)
19:18 … 185lb d/l, HSPU with band
10:34 Diane at 195, nose/forehead to floor
last time was Diane at 185 at 8:21, head to floor
Kev, I’m not exactly “back” yet, but I appreciate the sentiment!
Hey guys/gals, long time no see.
I’m trying to round into shape and test various injuries, so trying to do a few WODs on my own at gym around the corner. So far I made it through Cindy, forearm definitely gave me trouble but it didn’t kill me so that is good.
I’d like to do Fight Gone Bad, I’m wondering if there is a good sub for the sumo deadlift since getting hold of barbells is tough and using for ‘unapproved’ activities (sculpting specific muscles) is frowned upon.
I seem to remember some variety with a medicine ball, is that ‘valid’?
Also if I can’t find rower, what would I do?
Everyone is looking great! Hope to see you before the end of the year.
Allison, knock ‘em dead tomorrow!
