Navy Special Warfare Operator Chief Collin Trent Thomas, 33, of Morehead, Kentucky, assigned to a Navy SEAL team based out of Little Creek, Virginia, was fatally shot on August 18, 2010, during combat operations in Eastern Afghanistan. He is survived by his fiancee Sarah Saunders, his parents Clay and Jean Thomas, and his sister Meghan Edwards.

    Please note that while we don’t have sandbags, we do have kettlebells, dumbbells, and bumpers that all can be used as subs for that portion of the workout.

    Hey everybody, I’ll be at the gym with a client at 10am then will head down from the Box at 11am to the New Amsterdam Market for the butcher demo at noon that I posted about above. Feel free to tag along and bring your friends.
    I highly recommend coming to this event if you can as it’s not every day that you get the chance to watch a butcher as skilled and knowledgeable as Christoph is.
    I got the chance earlier this week to attend a 3-day workshop that he and his wife put on at Mosefund Farm out in Branchville, NJ, where we got to slaughter and butcher six pigs; clean and cook their organs; and cook, cure, smoke, and render the meat and/or fat of these very fatty heritage pigs that were originally bred for their flavor during the Austro-Hungarian empire.
    Plus the New Amsterdam Market itself is a great place to see in and of itself and there are plenty of different food vendors down there worth checking out.
    Plus it’s all FREE.
    You don’t have to RSVP, just meet at the gym by 11am or arrive at the market between 11:30 and noon for the noon demo.

    Hari – hilarious!
    this seems like a good time to mention that I miss your analysis and commentary on wods. it definitely helped me prepare and gave a strategy on how to best attack them. also had a calming effect, took away some of the anxiety and anticipation. I know it’s a lot of work to write a thoughtful pier like that day in and day out but if you ever got back into it I know I at least would greatly appreciate it.

    There is a normal WOD schedule today: 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM.
    Thursday, 11/25, we will be closed for Thanksgiving.
    Friday, 11/26, we will run a Sunday Schedule.
    Saturday, 11/27, we will run a normal schedule.
    Sunday, 11/28, we will run a normal schedule.

    Thanks to everyone for the Wedding WOD sendoff on Saturday morning. Very clever WOD design, Josh. And, thanks for the compassionate scaling, Sara. Thanks again to everyone for helping me overcome my pre-wedding jitters through an obliteratingly hard workout. I’ll see you all when I get back from the honeymoon.
