Today, everyone is a Big Dawg. If you are unfamiliar with the movement pick a light weight and work on your technique.

Also, let me add that today is not the day to wear your running shoes. Weightlifting shoes are best, but low-top Chuck Taylors (or some other sort of hard-bottomed, flat shoe) will also work pretty well. P.S.: I’ll be filling in for Kevin P. , the regular Sunday instructor, who’ll be competing on the clean & jerk in NJ (and the snatch, of course) at a Master’s Invitational. Let’s all wish him good luck!

Tabata mashup of 1.5 pood KB snatches and anchored sit ups, no AbMat
snatch: 8 (5L, 3R), 8 (5R, 3L), 8 (4L, 4R), 8 (4R, 4L), 9L, 9R, 9L, 9R
sit up: 12, 12, 12, 15, 15, 14, 16, 16
worked up to 205#
several attempts at 210#, got the cleans, but pressed out the jerks
for the first 10 minutes, I did 2 on the minute
10 min amrap Cindy (with a 40# weight vest)
7 rounds + 6 squats

Also, I’ve tried the paleo hacks at Chipotle yesterday and Qdoba today.
At Chipotle I got 3 servings of carnitas for around $8.25, after tax.
At Qdoba, I got a side of shredded beef ($2.59), a side of steak ($2.99), a side of pork ($2.59), fajita veggies (peppers & onions, $0.89) and a side of guac ($1.69) for a total of $11.60 after tax.
On a related note, you can also just go to Trader Joes and buy a bag of salad (5-7 oz.) and a chunk of pre-cooked carnitas (12 oz., 4 minutes to microwave) for less than $8 after tax.

Did the same tabata as Jeff and our team, except with a 1 pood bell
Worked up to 205 C&J got one good solid jerk rest were all failures, need to work on the jerks straight from the rack.

And still working on double unders and pull ups. Got 39 double unders in a row today, which is a big PR.
Allison taught a terrific class today! As a result, i maybe didn’t get very close to pr on the clean & jerk, but got a lot closer to doing them with half-way decent form. Thanks, ab!
