I hate to be that guy, but please- PLEASE- what is the song name? If I had to listen to that during my runs, I would also be pretty motivated

  • AndrewNYC

    Hey Josh

When are we getting Wodify? Estimate on the date it will begin?

    • Hari Singh

One of us tends to be a bit more of a realist.

Wodify has fallen off our list of top priorities. I don’t see a world in which this software is operational before next year, if then. Part of the issue is that we need to complete all the construction for the Front Desk and the stairs before we can support the necessary computer systems.

      • AndrewNYC

        Thanks Hari

    • reisbaron

In the mean time Andrew, everyone can use Beyond the Whiteboard to track results. It’s free for CFNYC members, and easy to sign up. Our daily WODs are linked on the BTWB calendar, which should make it easy for you :-) . Hit me up at reis.baron@gmail.com if you have any questions.

  • d_simon

I also hate to be that guy, but why does the video autoplay on every page load?

    • NickA

I agree – can we stop the autoplay?

      • reisbaron

        Agreed.

Hi guys. Just fixed this now. Would have fixed it sooner if someone had emailed me (allison AT crossfitnyc DOT com) to let me know. I don’t always get to read comments right away–in this case, because I was on vacation–so email is the best way to let me know if there’s a problem with the blog. Thanks!

P.S.: Didn’t realized that the standard embed code for Vimeo does auto-play. Yes, that does really suck… :)

In late August, you guys posted that the men’s shower would be ready in early September ie 1-2 weeks away. Yet It is almost the middle of October and still no men’s shower. How were you guys so badly off on your estimate, and when can we expect the showers installed? Thanks.

    • meret

i’m not trying to be obnoxious, but contractors are notoriously unreliable in their estimates…i’m sure we were just being relayed the info from the contractor, who then didn’t meet their own estimate.

      • Court

        Hey all-
Meret & Reis have described our situation perfectly; between some permit delays and the entire plumbing system (& consequently the entire bathroom floor) having to be rejiggered, it’s been a series of “revised schedules”. The good news is that the women’s bathroom is being completed this week and construction on the new men’s has already begun and should proceed faster since the weird plumbing has been sorted out.

    • reisbaron

As a homeowner I can attest to the reality of construction delays. I can only imagine how this very normal situation is magnified tenfold in NYC, not to mention for commercial construction, as well as dealing with the uncertainty of permit timelines in Mahnattan. No matter how much delay you factor into a construction timeline, consider it a general guide at best, but assume it will take much longer.

    • Hari Singh

One of us tends to be overly optimistic. The women’s locker room is now nearing completion and the men’s locker room is getting started. If past performance is a good indicator of future results, we estimate that the men’s showers will be functional in 6 to 8 weeks.

2 out of 3 of the rowers at 26th Street (3rd floor) are broken. Are the new one’s in the boxes that were delivered yesterday to replace those?

    • Sara

I knew rower #5 was out and the owners ordered the parts to fix it. Do you know which other rower was out and what was wrong with it?

      • Court

Replacement part for #5 arrived today and it has been fixed. Will check for other rower tomorrow.

    • Hari Singh

We’re repairing the broken rowers. The new rowers will bring the total to four on each floor at 26th Street. Also a Rogue order that should have arrived several days ago (with new wall balls, etc.) arrived today at 26th Street.
