Getting Started
The best way to get a real sense of CrossFit is to stop by and take one of our free Beginners’ Classes. Each includes some careful instruction on basic movements, a short CrossFit workout based on those movements, and a further explanation of how we think about fitness and the world.
Our beginner classes are held on:
- Mondays at 6:30-7:30pm
- Tuesdays at 7:00-8:00pm
- Wednesdays at 6:30-7:30pm
- Thursdays at 7:00-8:00pm
- Saturdays at 10:00-11:00am
- Saturdays at 11:00am-noon
- Saturdays at noon-1pm

Beginners’ Classes are suitable for all fitness levels. We know that trying a new workout class or gym can be intimidating, and we’ve built our Beginners’ Classes to allow anyone to jump right in, regardless of the shape they’re in.
Please note that we’re currently holding ALL of our Beginners’ Classes in our new space at 44 West 28th St., 2nd floor (between Broadway and Sixth Avenue). Please be advised that we have not yet completed shower build-out at this new location. (Beginners are more than welcome to walk the two blocks to our original location to shower and use our towel service if necessary.)
Elements Workshop
After trying out a Beginner’s Class or two, most people are converts: they realize they’ve been wasting a lot of time in the gym, and that CrossFit will get them in the best shape of their lives, fast. The next step, then, is our Elements Workshop.
Elements is a six-session program that covers the basics of CrossFit. You’ll practice perfect form on the movements that make up our workouts, learn how to scale movements appropriately to your own individual current level, and start ramping up your fitness with a CrossFit workout at the end of each class.
We require all of our members to complete the Elements Workshop, so that they can safely, effectively, and confidently head into our general Workout of the Day (“WOD”) classes.
Your $299 enrollment fee includes six Elements classes, as well as two weeks of general membership after you complete Elements, so you can transition into our core WOD classes. Elements Workshops are limited to no more than 6 athletes, to ensure that our coaches can provide the highest level of individual instruction throughout.
